Position Summary:
The Universal Banker is a core role within the First Federal Lakewood retail branches, with three levels that carry progressive responsibilities. All Universal Bankers provide exceptional front-line customer service and sales within the branch.
Universal Banker 1: The main customer-facing role within the branch. Focuses on excellent customer service and sales, processes teller transactions, and follows guidance from Universal Bankers 2 and 3. Aims to gain expertise in all duties and supports training new employees as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service by processing transactions, handling account maintenance, and responding to inquiries in person and via phone, including Customer Relationship Center support. Follow up with customers as necessary.
- Operate Teller window, maintain acceptable outage levels, manage cash limits, and ensure compliance with policies for branch audits. Escalate complex issues to Universal Bankers 2 and 3.
- Open and close basic accounts and services accurately according to policies and regulations. Cross-sell bank products and make referrals for investment, mortgage, and business banking. Support advanced account openings and sales as needed.
- Understand and strive to meet individual, team, and branch performance metrics and sales goals. Participate in team meetings, complete training, and stay updated on systems and procedures including Digital Banking and online services.
- Perform basic opening and closing duties independently, including branch security procedures. Assist with back-office duties like reporting, ATM balancing, and processing deposits. Follow safety protocols and escalate issues appropriately.
- Float to other branches as needed.
- Maintain compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and applicable laws such as the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and anti-money laundering statutes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- 0-2 years of banking experience required.
- Experience handling cash required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) required; experience with Cleartouch, Nautilus, and CRM preferred.
- Driver's license required for float positions.

Physical Environment:
