Description

Our Float Tellers travel to all locations, including Hastings, Lake Odessa, Grand Rapids, Ada, Mulliken, Westphalia, and Dimondale.

Position Summary

The Teller I position is responsible for providing a best-in-class customer experience regarding daily transactions, inquiries, and problem resolution, in accordance with Union Bank policies. Responsibilities range from basic to moderate complexity. Teller I will refer customers for additional products/services and is responsible for risk management by adhering to policies and procedures, ensuring a positive customer experience.

Essential Functions

Customer Service & Transactions

• Promote excellent customer experiences and satisfaction.
• Build rapport with customers and understand account ownership.
• Process transactions such as check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, and payments.
• Count, prove, and package currency and coin.
• Redeem US Savings Bonds.
• Assist with night depository functions and safe deposit access.
• Operate TCR machines and balance drawers daily.
• Sell prepaid Visa Cards and process CD transactions.
• Handle various customer service transactions and serve as dual control for branch activities.

Cash Handling & Operational Excellence

• Follow security and emergency procedures.
• Maintain a secure and organized work environment.
• Adhere to bank policies and procedures.
• Cash checks following proper procedures.
• Balance transactions and correct outages.
• Assist with branch opening and closing.
• Maintain equipment like scanners and coin counters.

Sales & Referrals

• Meet or exceed sales referral targets.
• Participate in team meetings and understand all bank products.
• Identify customer needs and refer them to appropriate banking services.

Other Functions

• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• Comply with all banking regulations including BSA and OFAC.

Working Conditions

• Work mainly within the teller area; travel to different branches as needed.
• Stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

• Complete 90-Day Teller Certification successfully.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
