Job summary

Always Compassionate Home Care is seeking an experienced pediatric RN to provide in-school and private duty nursing across Long Island. You will deliver high-quality, one-on-one care in line with care plans and physician orders, supporting students during field trips and events.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a clinical setting.
• At least 1 year of pediatric RN experience, preferably in home care or private duty.
• Competency with G-tubes and feeding tubes, trach vents, seizure management.
• Experience with diabetes and cardiac conditions in pediatric patients.
• Strong clinical judgment and professional communication; independent work ability.

Responsibilities

• Float between assigned schools and/or patients as needed.
• Drive across Long Island to provide care, e.g., New Hyde Park to Miller Place.
• Deliver one-on-one nursing care per care plans and physician orders.
• Support school activities, field trips, and events with nursing coverage.
• Document accurately and communicate with families, schools, and teams.
• Onboard, train, and shadow RNs requesting first-visit support.

Qualifications & Education

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a clinical setting.
• At least 1 year of pediatric RN experience, preferably in a home care or private duty setting
• Demonstrated competency with:
• G-tubes, feeding tubes
• Trach Vent

• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing assignments

Key Responsibilities

• Float between assigned schools and/or patients based on company needs
• Must be willing to drive anywhere on Long Island- for example: New Hyde Park to Miller Place
• Provide one-on-one nursing care for individual students as required
• Support school-sponsored activities, including:
• Field trips
• Organized school event days
• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in accordance with care plans, physician orders, and school policies
• Assist with onboarding, training, and shadowing of RNs requesting first-visit support
• Maintain accurate documentation and clear communication with families, schools, and internal teams
• Uphold all safety, compliance, and professional standards
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational needs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, and work for extended periods
• Capability to meet the physical demands of school and clinical environments
