Responsibilities

This position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $25,000 and up to $24,000 in Student Loan Assistance.

The registered nurse will provide nursing care to patients of various age groups, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to nursing practice standards. The nurse must maintain competency in scientific knowledge to meet patient needs, demonstrate organizational skills to ensure smooth workflow, and support the hospital, department, and nursing unit philosophies.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities:

1. Conduct care assessments, interpret data to determine care needs, and identify constraints.
2. Complete system-based and hospital-specific competencies successfully.
3. Maintain accurate documentation of observations, treatments, teaching, medications, patient responses, and integrate this into the care plan.
4. Collaborate with patients and families to evaluate, plan, direct, and administer care, implementing plans based on established standards and considering cultural, religious, psychosocial, physical, and age-related factors.
5. Possess knowledge of medications and administer them safely and accurately.
6. Delegate and supervise routine technical tasks to appropriate personnel.
7. Evaluate patient outcomes in collaboration with the patient and family, and revise care plans as needed.
8. Negotiate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to resolve conflicts related to patient care or organizational issues.
9. Act as a resource for employees, students, and residents, supporting the hospital’s mission as a teaching institution.
10. Support patient and family-centered care, involving them in the care plan and providing education and support.
11. Perform other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the facility and its stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.

Required Licensure and Certifications: Current RN license in Kentucky, BLS, ACLS, PALS; specialty certifications as per unit requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Minimum two years of RN experience in an acute care setting.
• Critical Care experience for ICU positions; Telemetry experience for telemetry units.
• Knowledge of current nursing practices.

Preferred Qualifications: NRP, TNCC certifications preferred.
