Job description

Responsibilities

This position is eligible for up to a $25,000 sign-on bonus and up to $24,000 in Student Loan Assistance.

The registered nurse will deliver nursing care to patients of varying age groups by utilizing the nursing process and standards of nursing practice. They will maintain competency and apply scientific knowledge to meet patient needs, demonstrating organizational skills to ensure smooth workflow. The nurse will support the philosophies of the hospital, department, and nursing unit.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities:

1. Conduct care assessments and interpret data to determine patient needs and constraints.
2. Complete system-based and hospital-specific competencies.
3. Maintain accurate documentation of observations, treatments, medications, patient responses, and integrate into the care plan.
4. Collaborate with patients and families to evaluate, plan, and administer care, considering cultural, religious, psychosocial, physical, and age-related factors.
5. Possess knowledge of medications and administer them safely and accurately.
6. Delegate and supervise routine technical functions appropriately.
7. Evaluate patient outcomes and revise care plans in collaboration with patients and families.
8. Negotiate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to resolve conflicts.
9. Act as a resource for employees, students, and residents, supporting the hospital's mission as a teaching institution.
10. Support patient- and family-centered care, involving families in care planning and providing education and support.
11. Perform other duties as assigned to meet the facility's needs.

Qualifications

Required Education:

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.

Required Licensure and Certifications:

• Current RN license in Kentucky. BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required. Additional certifications based on unit specifications.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• At least two years of RN experience in an acute care setting.
• Critical Care experience for ICU units; two years preferred.
• Telemetry experience; one year required, two years preferred.
• Knowledge of current nursing practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• NRP and TNCC certifications preferred.
