Job summary

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health, seeks a compassionate Hospice Care Center Registered Nurse for our Care Center in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. You will deliver compassionate inpatient hospice care to terminally ill patients and their families, assess needs, and coordinate care to improve comfort and quality of life.

The role includes symptom management, patient and family education, and supervising LPNs and aides.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent bedside nursing experience.
• Active Florida Registered Nurse license.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Experience caring for terminally ill patients or those with life-threatening illnesses preferred; acute or post-acute care experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate patient and family needs and provide preventive and supportive care to terminally ill patients and families in the inpatient setting.
• Assess patient needs, coordinate care, manage symptoms, and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Provide oversight and supervision of LPNs and aides delivering patient care in the GIP environment.
• Float as needed to cover shifts and support care teams across Care Center locations.

The Care Center RN provides compassionate hospice care to terminally ill patients and their families in an inpatient setting. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, coordinating care, managing symptoms, providing education and support, and overseeing LPNs and aides.
