DescriptionUnder the supervision of the Director of Ambulatory Services, you will serve as the Float Practice Manager providing oversight and support to various Ambulatory Sites. You will provide supervision to clinical FTEs within various Departments and Specialties. Oversee projects as needed, provide bridge support during clinical re-designs, and support newly established Ambulatory Sites.
You will establish and maintain effective relationships and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, administrators, students, and the public on complex, sometimes sensitive issues. Supervise the medical front and back office staff and coordinate clinical services. Provide daily administrative and operational oversight and physical space management.
- Supervise the front and back office staff by assigning work appropriately and ensuring all patient protocols, policies, and procedures are followed. Handle daily office operations.
- Ensure adequate coverage during staff absences to guarantee minimal disruption of patient service activities.
- Encourage cooperation, teamwork, and facilitate constructive conflict resolution.
- Motivate staff and establish departmental goals. Plan, prioritize, and use effective time management.
- Recruit, train, and maintain qualified medical front and back office staff to meet practice needs.
- Represent the practice in personnel matters reaching the grievance level, in collaboration with the Director.
- Serve as backup in the absence of the Ambulatory MSO.
- Maintain compliance with Department and University policies and procedures for staff concerns and regulatory adherence. Perform daily rounding and maintain records.
- Support initiatives to improve quality of care and patient access.
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback to staff, offering additional support as needed.
Salary range: $64,800 - $137,600 annually
QualificationsRequired:- Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
- At least 2 years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting with supervisory responsibilities.
- Ability to write analytical and administrative reports and correspondence that are clear, concise, logical, and appropriate for diverse audiences.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of research-oriented patient care systems.
- Understanding of University policies and procedures related to risk management and personnel.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in work products.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and changing priorities.
- Experience collaborating with teams such as Ambulatory Nursing, Safety, Security, Skills Management, HR, and training staff.
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, accessibility, and team orientation.
- Systematic approach to optimizing efficiency and reducing duplication.
- Excellent writing skills for preparing accurate and concise reports and memorandums.
Preferred:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical supervisory role is preferred.
