This job acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. It involves effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members; assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibiting sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity in all interactions; maintaining involvement in activities aimed toward achieving unit and department goals; demonstrating professional responsibility and accountability, and supporting the organization’s nursing philosophy.

Education

Required - Registered nurse diploma.

Preferred - Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing.

Work Experience

Required - 2 years of relevant and recent nursing experience in assigned unit(s).

Certifications

Required - Current RN license in the state of practice.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred - Certification in a clinical specialty area.
