Job summary

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the RN Float Pool on a 12 Hour Night Shift. The RN will provide direct patient care, collaborate with physicians and care teams, and ensure safe, evidence-based practices across units.

The role requires a nursing degree, Iowa license (or compact), BLS, and strong clinical judgment. If telemetry is used, ACLS may be required. Competitive pay and full benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• BSN is preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license or compact license recognized by IA.
• BLS required; ACLS required if telemetry is used.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Strong math and critical thinking abilities; basic computer skills.

• Assess patients’ physical, psychosocial, and educational needs.

Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Registered Nurse, RN Float Pool.

As a Registered Nurse, RN Float Pool at MercyOne, you will serve as a clinician, team member, and professional and practices under these roles according to the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Practice and Professional Performance (2004). The Registered Professional Nurse is accountable for the delivery of evidence-based, safe, efficient and family centered care in order to achieve the Mission of MercyOne Clinton Medical Center and the Vision of Patient Care Services.

• Practice within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined in the Iowa Nurse Practice Act (2006); retains accountability for one’s own nursing practice.
• Responsible for planning, assessing, intervening, co-coordinating and providing direct patient care by utilizing critical thinking skills.
• Communicates with physicians, ancillary care-givers, patients and families regarding the patient’s plan of care.
• Fulfill the responsibility of holistic (body, mind and spirit) nursing care based on the mission, vision and values of MercyOne Clinton Medical Center.
• Performs assessments including physical, psychosocial, nutritional, functional, safety, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs.

Schedule:

• 7:00 pm – 7:30 am; every third weekend; holiday rotation

General Requirements:

• • Associate degree in nursing required
  • Bachelor of Science inN ursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current Iowa RN license or compact RN license recognized by the state of IA
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support ( BLS ) required
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required only if the unit has telemetry monitor capabilities
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire
  • High language, intermediate to high math, high critical thinking ability
  • Basic computer skills required

Education:

• Associate’s degree or diploma from an accredited school of nursing.
