Job summary

Riverside Health in Newport News, Virginia is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse to join our Lifelong Health Float Pool. The position requires at least 8 shifts every 4 weeks, with at least 2 weekend shifts, and will work across two Riverside Lifelong Health facilities on the Middle Peninsula.

The RN will support delivery of resident care under the Director of Nursing, coordinating with families and staff to ensure quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year 6 Months Long Term Care (LTC) Experience (Required)
• 2 years LPN Experience in a Long Term Care (LTC) or Assisted Living (AL) Setting (Preferred)
• 1 year RN Experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assigns duties to professional and non-professional staff according to education, training, policy and resident need.
• Engages team members for optimal performance and addresses performance as needed to assure quality resident care is delivered.
• Develops, implements and evaluates resident plans of care.
• Communicates plan of care to providers, residents, families and staff.
• Identifies changes in condition with proper documentation following the Interact process.
• Demonstrates consistent follow through for positive resident outcomes.
• Utilizes good judgment and specialized skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to manage a typical nursing unit.
• Allows resident choices within limits of capability considering safety /dignity issues and follows policies and procedures of facility to include resident privacy and dignity.
