Job summary

Day Kimball Health in Putnam, CT is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Float Pool to provide high-quality care across multiple inpatient areas. This role offers flexibility and cross-training opportunities while maintaining continuity and patient safety.

As a Float Pool RN, you will collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and teams to coordinate care, adapt to changing assignments, and uphold Day Kimball Health's standards of compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Accept assignments in designated clinical areas based on competency and staffing needs.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection prevention and regulatory standards.
• Demonstrate flexibility by transitioning between units while maintaining high-quality care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and department-based education.
• Serve as a clinical resource and promote teamwork across departments.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
