Job summary

Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center, part of NYC Health + Hospitals, seeks a Float Pool Nurse to provide professional nursing care across Acute Care specialties (ED, Inpatient, CCU/Telemetry, Med-Surg). Under supervision, assess patients, implement care plans, and collaborate with the health care team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Requirements include NYS RN license and current registration, one year of clinical nursing experience in the assigned specialty, and BLS certification

Qualifications

• Valid New York State license to practice as RN.
• One year of clinical nursing experience in the assigned float pool specialty.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Identifies physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms and applies essential nursing measures.
• Develops, implements and evaluates the nursing regimen for assigned patients.
• Maintains nursing care plans and progress notes for continuity of care.
• Interprets and reports patient responses to the health team.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to plan comprehensive patient care.
• Determines components of the nursing regimen for allied personnel.
• Provides orientation and guidance to allied nursing staff in care delivery.
• Participates in standards of nursing practice, committees and research related to float pool.
