Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Associate/Tech in the Float Pool to assist with individualized patient care under RN/LPN supervision. Positions available as full-time and part-time.

Training includes an accredited Department of Labor Apprenticeship for PCA with 175-hour program if no prior experience. Responsibilities include vital signs, patient mobility, meals, and basic clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, enteral feeding, wound care, and line/catheter care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA/CPTC certification preferred.
• Experience not required.
• BLS within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document into EMR system.
• Assist with meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, mobility, and transport.
• Clerical support duties as needed.
• Phlebotomy/blood cultures.
• Enteral feeding; wound care; IV/Foley removal; trach care/suctioning.
