Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant to support outpatient clinics with front-line patient care. You will schedule appointments, obtain pre-authorizations, register patients, and gather payor data in a fast-paced setting.

You will perform basic screenings, take vital signs, collect specimens, and assist with EKGs and vaccinations under supervision. Team collaboration with RNs, NPs, and physicians is essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience in medical assisting or acute patient care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtainable within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scheduling, pre-authorizations and patient registration.
• Perform basic medical screenings and vital signs.
• Collect specimens, perform EKGs and administer vaccines as directed.
• Assist providers with sterile and non-sterile procedures.
• Support wound care, sutures, and bandaging as needed.
