Job summary

HCA HealthONE Swedish seeks a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge Nurse) for the Float Pool to exemplify professional nursing practice and lead patient care coordination across units in the Denver metro area.

You will supervise staff, mentor colleagues, teach procedures, and support performance improvement to ensure safe, high-quality care across shifts. Colorado RN licensure, BLS, ACLS in critical care preferred, and BSN or progress toward BSN within 3 years required.

Qualifications

• Current Colorado RN license or active multi-state license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification in critical care units preferred.
• NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise personnel providing direct patient care with delegation based on patient needs.
• Provide ongoing supervision regarding conflict resolution and policy compliance.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator(Charge Nurse)in the Float Pool, you willexemplifiesprofessional nursing practice through expert clinical practice, strong leadership skills, and management activities.You will provideclinical management to the department through coordination of patient care activities,proceduresand flow of patients between variousunites.You will serveas a resource to the nursing staff andmentorsstaff indevelopmentof nursing skills and practice.

Here is some of what you can expect from being a Float Pool Clinical Nurse Coordinator withus:

• You will supervisepersonnel providing direct patient care, with delegation of activities based on patient care needs and competencies of available patient care staff.
• You will providedirect and ongoing supervision of staffwith regard toconflict resolution and personnel policy compliance, including disciplinary actions.
• You will teach,superviseand serveas a resource for staff,assistswith clinical procedures as needed.
• You willfacilitateongoing performance improvement activities that correlate to the Hospital-wide Performance Improvement Program with involvement of all levels of staff on designatedshiftasappropriate.
• You will makeassignments for the present or following shift to provide for smooth transition, andensuresappropriate assignmentsthroughout shift to cover changing patient needs and staff availability due to absences, breaks, etc.
• You will self-assignpatients and functions as necessary based on patient needs and availableresources on unit.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationthrough the American Heart Association or American Red Crossrequired.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification in critical care unitsrequired; otherspecialty certifications as required by units preferred.
• NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor Science Nursing or activelypursuing withcompletion within 3 years of hirerequired.
• Two (2) years of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of his/her acute care unit and three (3) years of experience for critical care unit.
• One to two years’progressive supervisory/charge/leadership nurseexperiencepreferred.
