Job summary

Children's of Alabama at the Main Campus McWane Building seeks an evening/night care assistant to support patient care under RN/LPN supervision. Work involves assisting with communication for patients, staff, and visitors in a busy pediatric setting.

The role requires Basic Life Support and at least one year of relevant patient-care experience or equivalent qualifications. Training opportunities exist within the Care Coordination Department to support discharge planning and post-discharge

Qualifications

• Essential: Basic Life Support.
• 1 year of staff-level patient care experience or equivalent qualifications.
• Credentials include CNA, CCMA, CMA, CMA ARMA, Certified Patient Care Technician, EMT (ADPH).
• Associate of Science Nursing (AS Nursing) or related nursing credential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care under supervision of RNs and LPNs.
• Communicate with patients, families, and staff to coordinate care.
• Organize post-discharge services and transportation when needed.
• Support discharge planning and education in collaboration with the care team.
