Air Evac Lifeteam is hiring a National Float Pilot to provide medical air transportation services. This full-time role offers a salary range with a 15% geo modifier, plus stipends and sign-on bonuses.

You will perform high-stakes flights, ensure compliance with safety manuals, and coordinate with Operations Centers for timely, safe transport. Responsibilities include preparing flight information, conducting preflight checks, and maintaining rigorous adherence to FAA regulations.

Qualifikationen

• Total flight time: 2000+ hours.
• Helicopter time: 1500+ hours.
• PIC time: 1000+ hours.
• Turbine time: 500+ hours.
• Night time: 200+ hours.
• Instrument hours: 75 (50 in actual aircraft).
• HEMS experience preferred.
• Experience with any GMR Air company preferred.

Aufgaben

• Create pilot information guides with locations, frequencies and procedures for hospital flights.
• Conduct local area orientation as required.
• Inform Flight Operations leadership when flight planning data is incomplete.
• Operate aircraft safely, in line with Rotorcraft Flight Manual.
• Monitor weather and forecast changes for flights.
• Preflight aircraft and document discrepancies with maintenance follow-up.
• Report major malfunctions or injuries to Operations Center promptly.
• Ensure operations comply with FAA regs and company manuals.
• Perform housekeeping duties in crew quarters and hangar areas.
• Wash, wax, and clean aircraft with maintenance staff as needed.
• Submit paperwork neatly and on time; perform other duties as assigned.

Incentives

• Salary range $102,723- $112,280 including 15% Geo Modifier
• $12K Float stipend
• $5K IFR stipend
• $15K Sign on Bonus, subject to eligibility
• Retention Bonus plans ($40,000 after 3 years plus additional retention bonuses once completed)

• Schedule 14 Days On and 14 Days Off
• Hourly position (any hours over 40 in a pay week is over time)

Responsibilities

• Creates pilot information guide to include location, frequencies, and procedures to be used, when flying into hospitals and other EMS agencies.
• Conducts local area orientation as required.
• Informs the Regional Director of Flight Operations anytime the necessary information for flight planning is not available or up-to date.
• Operates the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, with emphasis on compliance with the Rotorcraft Flight Manual
• Monitors forecast changes and current weather situations
• Conducts preflight of the aircraft prior to starting shift and/or accepting any transports or flights. Preflight will be conducted utilizing the appropriate rotorcraft flight manual. Discrepancies noted during the pre-flight will be noted in the engineering log with a notification to maintenance of the discrepancy and what corrective action is being taken
• Reports any major malfunctions, aircraft damage, or injured personnel to Operations Center in the most expeditious manner
• Ensures that all operations involving Company aircraft are in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, the Air Evac Operations Manual, and any state or municipal regulation; thus ensuring safe, efficient transport
• Performs any housekeeping duties required to make the crew quarters and hanger area neat, clean, and presentable along with nurse, paramedic.
• Wash, wax, and clean aircraft, as needed, along with nurse, paramedic and maintenance personnel.
• Submits all appropriate paperwork in a neat and timely manner Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• 2000 hours total flight time
• 1500 hours helicopter time
• 1000 hours pilot in command
• 500 hours turbine
• Minimum of 200 hours night (aided or unaided)
• 75 Instrument Hours (Actual / Hood / SIM) 50 Hours Actual in Aircraft
• Previous HEMS experience or equivalent - preferred
• 1 year experience with any GMR Air company - preferred
• FAA Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter certificate
• FAA Helicopter instrument rating

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current FAA Class II Medical certificate
• BH429/EC135 Experience preferred

• 230-pound weight limit dressed in flight suit and boots
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Required to work frequently near moving mechanical parts
• Required to work in outside weather conditions
• Frequently exposed to blood-borne pathogens or airborne particles
• Frequently exposed to vibrations/turbulence
• Exposed to loud noise levels requiring headphones while in-flight
• Mental ability to make quick but sound decisions.
