Job summary

Clearview Cancer Institute is seeking a dedicated Physician Scheduler to manage patient appointments for physicians and extenders in a busy oncology clinic. You will confirm visits, maintain daily schedules, greet patients, route messages, and support staff with clerical tasks.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, at least one year in a medical office, strong communication, multitasking ability, and comfort with office software.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience in a medical office environment.
• Ability to multitask and commit to excellence in patient care.
• Ability to interact with a variety of people.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in written form.
• Able to sit at a computer for up to eight hours a day and handle heavy phone usage.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments for patients to see physician, APP, labs, scans, etc.
• Confirm patient appointments.
• Maintain office schedules for the physicians and extenders.
• Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff.
• Receive and route messages and documents as needed.
• Greet patients, ascertain purpose of visit, and direct them to appropriate staff.
• Operate office equipment and use software applications as needed.
• Transmit information or documents as needed, using computer, mail, or facsimile machine.
• Perform various clerical and administrative functions as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
