Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Phlebotomist to support blood collection in a fast-paced lab setting in North Charleston, SC. The role requires venipuncture experience, pediatric and geriatric exposure, and the ability to travel to multiple SC sites.

The contract position offers hours 6am-5pm, Mon-Fri, with potential for permanent placement. A clean driving record and reliable transportation are required, with mileage reimbursement provided.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique.
• Match lab requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, and store as required.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper labeling.
• Store specimen samples per required temperature and protocol to maintain integrity.
• Understand OSHA/DEP regulations; attend annual trainings.
• Answer calls and communicate lab results as needed.
