Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist for the Norman, OK area. The position involves blood collection from patients of all ages, data entry, and travel to client and PSC locations. Schedule shifts vary between 6:00am and 6:00pm, with potential overtime and weekends as needed.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma and 2+ years of phlebotomy experience, preferably with LabCorp or in a clinical setting, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical or hospital environment.
• Experience assisting patients across age groups (pediatric to geriatric).
• Current or prior LabCorp experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary collection for all ages.
• Collect specimens for drug screens and tests as required.
• Enter patient data accurately into systems.
• Process billing information and collect payments when needed.
• Prepare specimens for testing and maintain logs.
• Provide excellent patient service and travel to client/PSC locations.

LabCorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join our team in the Norman, OK area (73069). Work Schedule: Monday - Friday hours will vary based on coverage needs between 6:00am to 6:00pm (overtime and rotating weekends may be required as needed).

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to client and PSC locations.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 or more years' phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment
• 1 or more years' experience assisting all patient age groups (pediatric - geriatric)
• Current or prior LabCorp experience

Additional Job Standards

• Will primarily cover sites in Norman / Oklahoma City, OK and surrounding areas. (On occasion may be requested to cover sites in rural OK approximately 100+ miles )
• Ability to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Be 21 years of age or older
• Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Reliable transportation needed
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
