Job summary

Genoa Healthcare, part of Optum, is seeking a Float Pharmacy Technician in Erie, PA to support the mental health pharmacy functions. You will dispense prescriptions and perform essential clerical duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

The role requires 1+ year of technician experience and PA licensure; onsite work at 1350 W 26th St and occasional coverage at 2922 State St. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and clinic.
• Fill prescription orders and verify under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies.
• Receive and process wholesaler medication orders.
• Verify medication stock and maintain inventory records in the system.
• Assist pharmacist with pharmacy functions and regulatory compliance.
• Perform clerical duties related to the department.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Float Pharmacy Technician to support all functions of the Genoa mental health pharmacy, primarily through dispensing medical prescriptions and performing necessary clerical duties while under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Hours: Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm with lunch

Location: Home site is 1350 W 26 th St. Erie, PA and will also cover at 2922 State St. Erie, PA as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service to all consumers and clinic
• Fills prescription orders and makes them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist
• Orders, receives, and stores incoming pharmacy supplies
• Receives and processes wholesaler medication orders
• Verifies medication stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records
• Works with the Pharmacist to assist in the pharmacy functions and keeping the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements
• Performs various clerical duties relating to the department
• Communicates with strong professional verbal and written communication skills
• Other duties as assigned
