GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate skills necessary for a role within the Retail Personal Banker job family. The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using the consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects. The role involves acquiring new households and deepening existing relationships through activities like lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting. Responsibilities include processing teller transactions and working as a member of the platform staff.

Risk and Compliance: Responsible for risk management by following policies, procedures, and elevating concerns. Committed to doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, ensuring actions drive a positive customer experience while managing risks within the bank's risk appetite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  2. Maintain knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products/services and recommend suitable solutions.
  3. Utilize marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and schedule financial reviews.
  4. Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities like community events and business calls.
  5. Establish relationships with Business Partners for holistic financial solutions.
  6. Meet/exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  7. Guide CSRs regarding sales and referrals.
  8. Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and friendliness.
  9. Respond confidently to customer inquiries and own customer issues.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and trust.
  11. Follow the Bank's Code of Conduct and policies, acting ethically at all times.
  12. Open and service a full range of Retail products following policies.
  13. Participate in the loan and bankcard process from application to closing.
  14. Assist with opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  15. Stay updated on Retail procedures to prevent fraud and manage risks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree, relevant work experience, or a combination of both.
  • Experience in the financial industry preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities for acquiring and cross-selling customers.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Must obtain S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS upon employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended screen viewing.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Potential travel outside the affiliate for classroom training.
