GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate skills necessary for a role within the Retail Personal Banker job family. The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using the consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet customers' financial needs. The role involves acquiring new households, deepening existing relationships, and processing teller transactions, while working as part of the platform staff.

This role is responsible for risk management by adhering to policies and procedures, ensuring a positive customer experience, and operating within the Bank's risk appetite while achieving results through risk assessment and management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Use consultative sales and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  2. Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend solutions.
  3. Utilize marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments.
  4. Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and outside sales activities.
  5. Establish relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic solutions.
  6. Meet/exceed customer experience and sales goals, and contribute to revenue growth.
  7. Guide CSRs in sales and referral processes.
  8. Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and friendliness.
  9. Own customer issues and maintain confidentiality.
  10. Follow ethical standards and policies, including opening/servicing Retail products.
  11. Participate in loan and bankcard processes, from application to closing.
  12. Assist in opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart.
  13. Stay updated on procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • College degree or relevant experience.
  • Experience in financial industry preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and sound judgment.
  • Must obtain S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended computer screen viewing.
  • Travel within the affiliate and to training sessions required.
