Job summary

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital in Brattleboro, Vermont is seeking a Patient Safety Technician Float on a per diem basis. The role supports nursing staff, performs clerical duties, and helps maintain safety and cleanliness on the unit.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient condition, reporting changes to nurses, assisting with ambulation, and conducting hourly safety checks. Requires high school graduate and CPR within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment with excellent organizational, customer service and prioritization skills.
• Prior healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of R N Team Lead or ACS, works as part of a multidisciplinary team to assist with patient and unit needs and perform clerical duties for a well-supplied, safe, clean patient unit.
• Immediately reports observed changes in patient condition to the primary nurse and informs RN/LPN of patient complaints.
• Calls the appropriate emergency code if needed.
• Assists with ambulation, mobilization and daily living activities as related to bathroom needs.
• Performs hourly rounding for patient experience and safety checks per unit standard.
• Stocks equipment and supplies, monitors for expired items and transports patients as needed.
