Job summary

AMR is seeking a Float Paramedic to respond to 911 calls across Kansas and neighboring counties. The role offers a salary of $57,200 to $69,212 per year, commensurate with experience, and is a full-time position with on-site duties in multiple Kansas locations and surrounding Missouri areas.

Primary responsibilities include direct patient care, leading the Paramedic team on scenes, operating defibrillators and monitors, and coordinating with healthcare and public safety partners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Paramedic certifications for Kansas and Missouri.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• BLS and ACLS required upon hire.
• PALS is preferred, but not required.
• Driving record compliant with company policy.
• Pass Physical Agility Test.
• Some work experience, preferably healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation to determine best action per Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize Paramedic skills with defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction, and IV fluids.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and manage scene and unit when needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively with allied health and public safety personnel.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and relationships.
