Job summary

Fairfield Medical Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of a Staff RN. You will provide personal care including bathing, feeding, skin and mouth care, and bed-making while documenting vital signs and intake/output.

Responsibilities also include assisting with pre-, intra-, and post-operative care, reporting changes in patient condition, maintaining supplies, and ensuring HIPAA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• STNA preferred.
• CPR certification within six months of employment.
• Ability to physically exert 50–100 pounds occasionally and 25–50 pounds frequently.

• Provides personal care: bathing, feeding, skin and mouth care, and changing bed lines.
• Collects, documents, and reports vital signs: temperature, blood pressure, pulse, height and weight.
• Empties patient drainage containers and maintains accurate intake and output records.
• Assists with pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative care, including positioning, lifting and turning.
• Reports changes observed in patient condition or behavior.
• Assists in maintaining supplies and reports malfunctioning equipment.
