Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medsurg/Telemetry/Intermediate Care units at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills in San Antonio. The role provides independent patient care in accordance with treatment plans, while developing contingency management and mentoring other care providers.

The nurse delegates appropriately, administers medications, documents care, and educates patients and families to support positive outcomes and adherence to care plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Minimum 2 years of Medsurg/Telemetry/Intermediate Care experience.
• RN license in state of employment (Texas).
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS for CHRISTUS Children’s Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using the nursing process for assigned patients.
• Administers medications and treatments; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication and care given.
• Educates patients, families and caregivers; identifies learning needs.
