Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in laboratory or biological sciences required.
• National certification for Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through an approved HHS agency or registry eligible.
• Certification as Medical Technologist (MT) also acceptable.
• Registry eligible candidates must pass Board of Registry exam within 12 months of employment.
• ND license required if working in North Dakota.

Responsibilities

• Collect laboratory specimens, as needed.
• Process lab specimens and perform clinical laboratory testing according to SOPs.
• Demonstrate skill in use of equipment relevant to position.
• Demonstrate critical and independent judgement in decision-making and problem-solving.
• Promote safety and comply with safety practices and protocols.
• May travel to other locations.
• Train new staff and serve as a laboratory resource.

Education

Bachelor's degree in laboratory or biological sciences

MLS certification through HHS agency (ASCP) or registry eligible

MT certification acceptable

ND license (if working in North Dakota)

BLS certification (may be required)
