Job summary

The Medical Assistant role at WellMed involves supporting physicians and nursing staff across multiple clinics. You will perform MA duties, manage patient flow, document care, and ensure infection control under supervision.

This position requires travel to various TX clinics as needed and provides a chance to contribute to high-quality patient care. Eligible candidates have a high school diploma or GED, MA certification (or within 180 days), BLS, basic computer skills, and a patient-first

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain within 180 days.
• Current BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proven ability to react calmly in emergencies.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable transportation for daily travel to clinics.
• Valid driver’s license in state of work.
• TB screening and immunity proof required.

Responsibilities

• Performs MA duties within scope of practice under supervision.
• Operates diagnostic equipment and collects specimens.
• Records patient care documentation accurately and timely.
• Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians and policies.
• Respects patient confidentiality and provides courteous service.
• Organizes exam rooms and sterilizes instruments.
• Follows standard infection control precautions.
• Screening intake and information gathering.
• Supports Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO).
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
