Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Primary Care team on North Float. The role involves direct patient care under the provider or RN, following system and department policies.

Typical hours are 8:00am–4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for professional development. The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED with medical experience, or a medical assistant program graduate with certification.

Qualifications

  • Highschool Diploma or GED with 1-2 years Medical experience OR Graduate Bachelors or Associates in science/health degree
  • Graduate/Completion of a medical assistant program preferred; Medical Assistant Certification or Registration preferred
  • Graduate of EMT, EMT-P, or Military Medical Corpsman training preferred
  • Nationally recognized Medical Assistant Certification or Registration preferred
  • 1-2 years medical assisting experience preferred or 2-3 years medical office experience if education is not met
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required and must be maintained

Responsibilities

  • Administer direct care to patients within Ohio scope of practice under supervision
  • Follow policies and procedures including Mount Carmel Health System, Mount Carmel Medical Group and department policies
  • Perform duties as part of primary care specialty team (North Float)
  • Support schedule from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday

Position Purpose:
  • The Medical Assistant will function within the State of Ohio scope of practice to administer direct care to patients, functioning under the direction of the provider or registered nurse and practice manager, following all policies and procedures including Mount Carmel Health System, Mount Carmel Medical Group and department specific policies and procedures.

  • Specialty: Primary Care

  • Location: North Float

  • Hours of office: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

What You Will Do:
