Job summary

Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a Clinic LPN to join our team as a PRN daytime role. You will work under RN supervision to provide direct patient care and support the plan of care in a busy clinic environment.

This position requires a Tennessee Practical Nursing program graduate with an LPN license and BLS within 30 days of hire. The team emphasizes compassion, patient-centered care, and collaborative problem solving.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care supervised by a registered nurse.
• Perform plan of care interventions including specimen collection and wound care; administer medications as allowed; document care.
• Assist RN with plan of care development.
• Assist patients with ADLs (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Monitor and communicate patient status to RN/physician/family.

How you'll contribute

A Clinic LPN who excels in this role:

• As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.


• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. May administer medication. Documents patient care given.


• Assists RN with development of plan of care.


• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.


• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.


• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.


• Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.


• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Tennessee or compact state LPN license and be a graduate of a Practical Nursing program. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.


• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.


• Licenses: LPN License for the State of Tennessee.


• Education: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program.

Highpoint Health - Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is a 157-bed facility that includes 131 licensed acute care beds and 26 skilled nursing home beds. Fully accredited by The Joint Commission, the hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services supported by a qualified and diverse medical staff.
