Full-time Dental Assistant position based in Meriden, working Monday through Friday with one Saturday per month. The role offers healthcare benefits, PTO, and a 403B plan. Candidates must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and be flexible with travel.

The Dental Assistant supports the dentist in providing primary dental care, prepares equipment and the workspace, and fosters a supportive environment for patients. The role involves chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Preparing the office and treatment areas daily.
  2. Performing pre- and post-treatment setup and cleanup following all agency protocols.
  3. Preparing patients for procedures.
  4. Assisting the dentist at the chairside with four-handed techniques.
  5. Demonstrating knowledge of instruments and procedures.
  6. Performing patient services such as triage, radiographs, impressions, suture removal, temporary fillings, recementing crowns, and laboratory work.
  7. Maintaining the dental facility, equipment, and supplies.
  8. Adhering to safety and infection control standards, including PPE use.
  9. Taking quality radiographs, processing, mounting, labeling, and complying with radiation safety standards.
  10. Providing excellent customer service with a focus on quality care and teamwork.
  11. Completing mandated in-service training workshops.
  12. Maintaining confidentiality of patient and business information according to CHC policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Graduate of an accredited Dental Assisting School or two years of general dentistry experience.
  3. Certification in Dental Radiology and Infection Control from DANB.
  4. Commitment to preventive dental care.
  5. Interest and knowledge in caring for diverse patient populations.
  6. Fluency in English and another language spoken by patients (e.g., Spanish or Polish) is preferred.
