Job summary

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health, seeks a caring Float CNA to provide patient care at our Care Center in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties on the night shift, 7:45pm to 8:15am, three shifts per week. The CNA delivers quality, patient-centered care under the direction of a licensed nurse and may be reassigned based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Florida CNA license required
• Six months hospice/home health/acute care experience preferred
• CPR certification from Red Cross or American Heart Association
• Night shift availability and ability to work at multiple locations

Responsibilities

• Provides basic personal care such as bed, shower or tub bath, oral hygiene, toileting, skin care, ambulation, and exercise as directed by the RN and assigned by the patient’s POC.
• Provides education in personal care, patient positioning, and ADLs specific to patient’s POC.
• Measures and records vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, BP) as ordered.
• Communicates observations to the RN and participates in IDG meetings.

Suncoast Hospice, a member ofEmpath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated Float CNA to provide patient care at our Care Center in Pinellas County and Hillsborough county on the following schedule: nightshift 7:45pm to 8:15am, 3 shifts a week. The CNA delivers quality, patient-centered care under the direction of a licensed nurse, while monitoring and reporting changes in patient condition. This role requires flexibility to work at various locations and be reassigned based on business needs.

What you'll Do

• Provides basic personal care such as bed, shower or tub bath, oral hygiene, toileting, skin care, ambulation, and exercise as directed by the RN and assigned by the patient’s plan of care (POC).
• Provides education in personal care, patient positioning, and ADL’s specific to patient’s POC.
• Measures and records oral, rectal, and axillaries temperatures, pulse, and respiration, and blood pressure when ordered within scope and training of the CNA.
• Communicates and regularly updates the RN regarding observations, progress/deterioration and comfort needs of the patient. Actively participates in the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) meetings.

What You’ll Need

• Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
• Six months recent experience in Hospice, Home Health or acute care setting environment preferred.
• Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
