Job summary

ScionHealth in Westminster, CA is seeking a CNA to assist professional nursing personnel in patient care in assigned areas. You will support activities of daily living, provide emotional support, and perform more complex clinical skills under the direction of nursing staff.

The role requires CNA certification, BCLS, and 6 months of prior acute or long-term care experience. The position offers a $23.00–$23.60 per hour pay range with additional shift differentials and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must hold CNA certification in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BCLS) within facility-specified time frame.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required or demonstrated ability to perform essential functions.
• 6 months of experience in an acute care or long-term care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consults with and informs supervisor about unit activities, needs, and problems related to patient care.
• Provides general nursing care and assists patients with activities of daily living, mobility, and personal care.
• Takes and records vital signs; documents data in a timely manner.
• Prepares patient rooms for admission and transfers; ensures cleanliness, ventilation, and comfort.
• Assists in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures and handles patient belongings.
• Responds to patient call lights, telephone, and paging system promptly.
• Under RN direction, performs routine treatments and assists with use of equipment.
• Assists with restraints under RN supervision and ensures proper positioning.
• Supports RN/LVN/LPN with more complex treatments as needed.
• Serves and removes patient meal trays and assists with feeding when required.
