Job summary

Valley Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for our Winchester, VA location. The role supports the START Clinic under supervision of the Clinic Nurse or Nurse Practitioner. You will greet patients, prepare files, perform MA tasks, and help move appointments through the system.

Responsibilities include updating records, documenting vitals, performing on-site tests, and educating patients on treatment plans. Requires MA certification within 6 months and BLS provider certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire.
• BLS Certification prior to orientation.
• Excellent communication and patient-service skills.
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and prepares them for visits.
• Performs basic MA tasks including phlebotomy and EKG.
• Updates medical records accurately per policy.
• Schedules tests and procedures with patient notification.
• Ensures HIPAA compliance and safety standards.
• Educates patients about treatments and medications.
