Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the patient care team. You will drive the patient experience by performing clinical procedures, documenting vital signs, and coordinating follow-up care under provider orders.

You will administer treatments and medications, conduct diagnostic tests, and ensure accurate handoffs to patients and families. The role requires adherence to safety guidelines and ongoing participation in performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv required.
• 1+ related work experience or graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship.
• 6 months AdventHealth experience preferred.
• Previous MA experience preferred.
• Previous urgent care / ED experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document clinical assessments and procedures per policy.
• Record vital signs and assess for abuse or neglect using age-specific guidelines.
• Administer treatments, medications, and follow-up assessments as ordered.
• Perform diagnostic tests (EKG, spirometry, audiometry, titmus, pulse oximetry).
• Complete check-out duties and relay care instructions to patients and families.
• Follow CDC infection control and safety regulations; use PPE appropriately.
