Job summary

Dermatology Consultants PC in Minnesota is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN to join our patient care team. You will assist providers during surgeries and procedures, scribe in EMR, manage patient flow, perform phlebotomy, injections, and related duties in a busy dermatology practice.

The role requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Practical Nursing program with CMA/RMA or LPN certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Practical Nursing Program with CMA, RMA or LPN certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months
• Experience with EMR systems and ability to scribe and document
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dermatology clinic
• Willingness to work at St. Paul, Woodbury, Eagan or Vadnais Heights offices

Job Duties

The Medical Assistant or LPN collaborates with the provider on the patient care team. Responsibilities include a variety of hands-on patient care duties including assisting with patient flow, assisting the provider, assisting in cosmetic procedures, surgery assisting, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) scribing, lab duties, and phlebotomy.

Duties

• Provide direct assistance to provider with surgical and medical procedures such as surgery, excisions, biopsies, wart treatment, cosmetic services etc.
• Room patients and stay with patient throughout visit to scribe for provider in EMR system
• Perform clinical and administrative duties including injections, phlebotomy, instrument cleaning, specimen handling, phone calls, scheduling, and patient education

Minimum Education Required

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Practical Nursing Program with a current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA or LPN) or ability to obtain certification within 6 months

Minimum Experience Required

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, exciting environment
• Ability to multi-task and to provide services to patients in a warm and professional manner
• EMR experience
• Ability to work at our St. Paul, Woodbury, Eagan or Vadnais Heights office
