Dermatology Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our growing team. The MA will work directly with the Clinical Manager and Physician to provide dermatological services and excellent patient care.

All training will be provided on site, as well as a reimbursement for a 16-hour Derm Tech online course completed before starting. The pay rate starts at $22.50/hour, for a full-time position, plus eligible benefits, 401(k) and discounted cosmetic treatments.

Qualifications

• Candidates must possess a medical assistant diploma or maintain an active nursing license and be in good standing with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
• Professional demeanor and privacy considerations for patients and families.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming techniques and assist physicians with procedures.
• Prepare patients for examinations and obtain history and chief complaint.
• Assist physicians with biopsies and select surgical/cosmetic procedures.
• Take patient phone calls and relay information between patient and physician.
• Maintain pathology processes and sterilize equipment and rooms as directed.
• Coordinate triage priorities and patient needs with supporting teams.
• Document patient needs concisely and accurately.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Dermatology Specialists is looking for Medical Assistant to join our growing team. The Medical Assistant will work directly with the Clinical Manager and Physician in providing dermatological services and excellent patient care. All training will be provided on site, as well as a reimbursement for a 16-hour Derm Tech online course completed before starting. The rate of pay is starting at $22.50/hour, based on experience and qualifications, for a full-time position, plus eligible for benefits, 401(k) and discounted cosmetic treatments. Note: Signing Bonus of $1,000 for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Perform rooming techniques and assisting physicians with procedures
• Performing clinical tasks to support physicians such as: preparing patients for examinations as directed by the physician, obtaining history and chief complaint for office visit, assisting physicians with biopsies, and assisting physicians with select surgical and cosmetic procedures
• Taking patient phone calls and relaying information between patient and physician
• Accurately maintain the pathology process in its entirety
• Select clinical procedures such as suture removal, dressing changes, and patch testing as ordered by the physician
• Patient education as directed by the physician on treatment plans, procedures and medications
• Sterilization of equipment, supplies, exam and procedure rooms using germicides, sterilizer or autoclave
• Assign a triage priority based upon information available
• Coordinate the needs of the patient with supporting pods and assist in problem solving related to the welfare of the patient
• Document concisely, descriptively and legibly indicating patents' needs
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Job Qualifications

Experience

• Previous medical field experience preferred.
• Experience in Dermatology and/or Mohs

Physical requirements

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.50 - $28.50 per hour, depending on experience
