Job summary

AdventHealth in Merriam, KS is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations. The role includes patient intake, scheduling, billing, and EMR support in a busy outpatient setting.

Requirements include a High School Diploma and 1+ year of clinic experience; BLS and CMA/CMAC/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA certifications are preferred or required by the facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of previous medical office experience required; 5+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in delivering medical care to clinic patients.
• Manage billing and charge entry processes.
• Schedule patient appointments and maintain the clinic calendar.
• Handle prior authorizations for procedures and treatments.
• Verify insurance eligibility and related documentation.
• Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries professionally.
• Process medical records and ensure accurate documentation.
• Act as an EMR super user, training staff on the system.
• Maintain a high level of customer service in all patient interactions.
• Ensure compliance with clinic policies and procedures.

Requires full availability weekdays 730am-8pm & weekends 730am-5pm.

Location:

Will provide support to clinics between Shawnee Mission, Olathe, & Overland Park. Mileage support is provided.

Education

Work Experience

• 1+ year of previous experience [Required]
• 5+ years of medical practice experience [Preferred]
