Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse to join the Float Pool. The role integrates knowledge, research, and experience to promote excellence in patient care and outcomes, with collaboration across the health care team and discharge planning.

Float APRNs will receive a $10/hour specialty differential and a sign-on bonus ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 based on experience. The position requires flexibility and strong clinical and communication skills, with 36 hours weekly

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is required.
• 1–3 years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred; pediatric experience preferred.
• Massachusetts NP license required; certification as Pediatric or Family NP.

Responsibilities

• Perform history and physical exams and interpret findings.
• Diagnose and manage common pediatric clinical problems.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate treatment plans with interdisciplinary team.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies; communicate findings to care team, patient, and family.
• Participate in discharge planning with the health care team.
• Write orders, prescriptions, and progress notes; create discharge summaries for PCPs.
• Engage in rounds, conferences, and teaching activities.
• Communicate condition and plan of care to patient and family; health teaching and counseling.
