Job summary

ACET, Incorporated, a veteran-owned systems engineering and IT firm, seeks a Flightline Mechanic (Mech I) in Jacksonville, NC. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhaul of aircraft and subsystems, with emphasis on rotary-wing platforms such as UH-1/AH-1.

A CAC and Secret clearance are required. Candidates must have 4+ years of aviation and rotary-wing experience, FAA A&P or equivalent, and the ability to read complex drawings.

Qualifications

The Position:

ACET is seeking a H-1 Aircraft Mechanic in our Jacksonville, NC location.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, modifications, corrosion control and preservation of aircraft and aircraft systems and aircraft sub-systems, including fuel and oil systems.
  • Perform functional checks, inspections, troubleshooting as required and trained.
  • Maintain aircraft forms and records using the Optimized Naval Aviation Logistic Management Information System (OOMA)
  • Operate aircraft towing equipment in towing operations.
  • Experience operating aviation ground support equipment (GSE), precision measuring tools, torque wrenches, and standard aviation maintenance hand tools.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts.
  • Provide technical guidance, instructions, and interpretation of written instructions and procedures to mechanics as required to assure acceptable quality work and flight line services.
Position Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4 years aviation experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years rotary wing aviation experience.
  • Must be skill qualified ina primary MOS fromany ofthefollowing OccFlds:6114/6174, equivalentskilldesignationfromother services, or possess validFAA Airframe andPowerplant (A&P) Certification.
  • Must be able to meet any Government/Companylicensing/qualificationrequirements for the position.
  • UH-1 and AH-1experience required.
  • Must pass a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Common access card (CAC).
  • Secret Clearance Required
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and use measuring instruments, gauges, tools, and test equipment.
  • Must demonstrate an operational knowledge of aircraft,aircraft systems, engines, and component parts.
  • Knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance.
  • Able to read and write, and interpret and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, and directives, guides and forms used on the job.
  • Must showproficiencyinthe use of OOMA after assignment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass fit for work physical and/or drug test as required.
  • Must be able to work in areas that require awkwardposturing,bending, kneeling,squatting, to include working overhead.
  • Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flightline.
  • Must be able to man and perform Flightline Extinguisher duties.
  • If required must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate Powered Industrial Trucks.
  • If required must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 - 4 hours.
  • If required must be able to perform confined space activities.
  • Travel may be required.
