ACET, Incorporated, is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic III at NAS Jacksonville, FL. The role involves leading maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on complex aircraft systems, with responsibility for guiding junior technicians and ensuring adherence to technical standards.

The candidate will work in a high-demand environment requiring strong communication, documentation, and hands-on expertise in airframe and powerplant systems, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of aviation structure maintenance experience.
• Proficiency in depot-level maintenance procedures and processes.
• Knowledge of FAA, military, and industry standards.
• Familiarity with aircraft structures and airframes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration.
• 5 years prior experience on an Air Force Wide-body platform (preferably P-8).

• Maintains and repairs aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components.
• Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and restores equipment condition.
• Provides technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers; participates in logs/records and guides lower-level technicians.

Job Description

ACET is seeking Aircraft Mechanic III – at our NAS Jacksonville, FL location.

Responsibilities

Aircraft Mechanic III –Leads a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled/ unscheduled maintenance. Processes the technical experience to supervise subordinate mechanics and provide technical guidance on maintenance operations on the aircraft being supported. Capable of performing, supervising and inspecting the duties of Mechanics Is, IIs, and IIIs.

A person in this position maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plants systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.

• This worker also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures’ manuals.
• Work typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair and the ability to determine functionality on non-complex electrical systems.
• A detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required.
• Must possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike.
• Must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule.
• This worker will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.

Qualifications

Required

Preferred

• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or equivalent military certification.
• Prior service in a military or government aviation maintenance environment.
• Aircraft Avionics / Electrician Certifications.
• Past Quality Assurance or QAR Experience.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift, push, pull and manipulate 50lbs independently when needed.
• Must be able to climb on ladders if needed.
• Must be able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs.
• Position involves long periods of standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling on aircraft structure and around aircraft for maintenance functions.
• Position may require working in a confined workspace.
• Position may require use / exposure to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids and cleaning solvents.
• Position is located in a high noise area within an aircraft hangar / flightline environment.
• FIT for Duty Physical is required.
• May require DOT and Respiratory Physicals.
