Job summary

Honda Aircraft Company in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Flight Test Telemetry Technician to maintain the telemetry link between the flight test article and the TM ground station. You will plan frequencies, support during test flights, and manage data after each flight.

The role requires an associate degree in electronics or equivalent, at least five years of direct related experience, familiarity with FCC regulations, Quasonix receivers, and S-band frequency management.

• 5+ years of previous direct related work experience.
• Previous flight test experience is preferred.

Job description

• Actively participates during Test flights to support TM room and TM Van.
• Review, process and Store Flight test data after each flight.
• Support pre and post Flight briefings.
• Assists Data FTE in data reduction as required
• Prepare IAD's screens to support Aircraft and TM room.
• Maintain TM room and TM Van equipment.
• Support Off-site flight test as required. Approx travel requirements 50%

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:

• Associate degree or Technical Diploma in Electronics.

• Previous Flight Test experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of Systems & Avionics Flight test methods and FCC Regulations
• Working knowledge of the Quasonix receiver and Antenna control unit.
• Fire optics connection termination experience is preferred.
• Skilled using IAD's and engineering applications.
• Understanding of S and C band frequency management
• Good knowledge of Frequency modulation scheme
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels throughout and organization.

Physical Requirements:

Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
