Job summary

Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) seeks an engineer for a full-time research faculty position in the Air National Guard program division in Shalimar, FL. The role oversees design, testing, performance, and technical management of complex systems, coordinating across teams and sponsors.

The candidate will lead architectural development, interact with military leadership, and ensure compliance with technical standards while contributing to Open Systems Enclave efforts. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Active Secret or higher clearance required.
• Experience on major programs and flight test ranges.
• Experience with Flight Test Planning, Electronic Warfare, avionics and missions system testing.
• Ability to interact with senior military leadership and manage programs.

Responsibilities

• Direct technical teams on system design and strategic architecture for large deployments.
• Coordinate sub-contractor resources across all system engineering areas.
• Translate requirements into physical architectures for complex systems.
• Develop technical reports and diagrams detailing system attributes.
• Direct teams to implement and maintain architecture roadmaps, designs and standards.
• Compile report inputs from researchers and deliver final reports.
• Serve as SME for systems engineering tools and technologies.
• Travel 10–25% as needed.
