Job summary

Pilot Assessments seeks an experienced Flight Test Pilot to conduct initial and acceptance test flights for Gulfstream aircraft at our Dallas, TX site. You will verify performance, handling qualities, and system functionality, while supporting FAA airworthiness checks and regulatory flight activities.

The role involves debriefing engineering teams, training customer pilots, and representing the company in flight demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum seven (7) years of flight experience.
• Current ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• ATP/ATPL (or ability to attain).
• Previous flight-test or maintenance test pilot experience.
• Fluent in English (read, write, speak, and understand).

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and acceptance test flights of Gulfstream production aircraft to verify performance, handling qualities, and system functionality.
• Support FAA Certificate of Airworthiness checks and represent Gulfstream during regulatory flight activities.
• Perform customer aircraft test flights after initial outfitting, service center maintenance, and modification for next certification levels.
• Evaluate used aircraft considered for sale or trade to confirm airworthiness and alignment with current production functional standards.
• Debrief engineering and manufacturing teams on ground and flight discrepancies and provide technical assistance to drive resolution.
• Deliver customer pilot training as needed; provide ground and flight instruction to company and customer crews on new products, installed systems, and upgrades.
• Support Sales & Marketing via technology briefings (including ITF) and local sales-demonstration flights.
• Perform additional flight test and operational duties as assigned under the direction of the Chief and/or Senior Production Test Pilot.

Preferred qualifications

• Gulfstream experience, ideally with GVII and/or G280 type ratings.
• CFI certificate.
• Functional Test Pilot experience.
• Prior Gulfstream aircraft experience (desired but not required).

Additional details

• Work authorization: No work visa sponsorship is available for this role, except for currently sponsored Gulfstream employees.
• Travel: Up to 50% to support flight test, customer training, and sales demonstrations.
