Job summary

FMS Aerospace in Huntsville seeks a Senior Flight Test Engineer to lead flight test programs for aircraft modification and certification under Part 23/25. You will plan, execute, analyze data, and prepare technical documentation to demonstrate airworthiness and compliance.

The role requires deep test and systems knowledge, collaboration with pilots, engineers, and authorities, and oversight of junior engineers. A DoD-friendly environment and domestic/international travel up to 20% are possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 10 years direct flight test engineering experience.
• FAA Class III Medical Certificate or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead flight test planning, execution, data reduction, and reporting for modification/certification programs.
• Develop certification bases and regulatory compliance plans for FAA/military/customer activities.
• Act as test director during flight operations with coordination across teams.
• Prepare engineering reports supporting airworthiness approval and design compliance.
• Review designs and test methods; mentor junior engineers and manage resources.
