Job summary

Joby Aviation’s Flight Research team seeks a Flight Test Engineer to support advanced development efforts focused on the autonomy portfolio, including the Cessna Caravan platform. You will own flight test activities, analyze data, and generate reports.

FAA pilot certificates are preferred, and ability to operate large uncrewed aircraft is expected. The role requires collaboration with engineers, pilots, and leadership, and involves travel to support short-term military exercises or remote

Qualifications

• Experience in flight test or flight test engineering is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across disciplines.
• Proven ability to work independently and in teams under extended hours.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute flight test programs for complex vehicles and systems.
• Develop expert knowledge of test article systems and aircraft.
• Perform flight readiness reviews, briefs, debriefs, and data analysis.
• Monitor real-time data during flights to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Document findings and report deficiencies and regulatory compliance.

Bachelor's degree in related field
