Flight Test Engineer (Associate or Experienced)

The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) Organization is looking for a Flight Test Engineer in Berkeley, MO for the F18 and F15 flight test programs. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Experienced Flight Test Engineers.

Position Responsibilities
  • Plan, author, and coordinate various modifications across different teams and sites.
  • Work and manage different programs concurrently.
  • Support the maintenance team with flight preparation sheets as required per maintenance.
  • Support distributed test operations as required.
  • Plan and coordinate flight test mission requirements with responsible engineers from internal and external customers.
  • Develop flight test and mission profiles, publish test plans, create flight test cards, and manage test schedules.
  • Identify and coordinate the availability of test ranges and facilities with company and government agencies.
  • Establish test planning working groups, conduct flight test readiness reviews, and hold pre‑ and post‑test briefings.
  • Conduct ground and flight tests in accordance with established test plans and procedures.
  • Participate in post‑test data evaluation and problem identification and resolution.
  • Prepare and publish test summaries and test reports.
  • Lead and prepare for remote site deployments.
  • Develop and document standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity.
  • Apply lessons learned to improve test procedures.
  • Oversee debriefing of the test team.
  • Approve test data prior to delivery to the customer.
  • Formulate expectations for test data based on historical data.
  • Work under minimal direction.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a non‑US equivalent directly related to the job.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25–50% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
  • 1+ year of experience working in a lab test, flight test, or similar test environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Level 3: 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An active U.S. Security Clearance; a clearance active in the past 24 months is considered active.
  • Experience authoring test plans and/or test cards.
  • Experience executing tests in a control room environment.
  • Experience with military aircraft and/or mission systems.
  • Experience operating and/or maintaining aircraft (e.g., pilot license, maintenance experience).

Summary Pay Range for Associate level (Level 2): $79,000 – $108,100

Summary Pay Range for Experienced level (Level 3): $95,000 – $128,000

Education

Relocation

Security Clearance

Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance requiring U.S. citizenship. Interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre‑Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start are required.
