Position: Flight Test Analysis- Junior_Multi-Disciplinary
Location: Huntsville, Alabama
Description:
- Support Department of War (DoW) customers with the development, test, and evaluation of flight vehicles as a member of the Flight Test Analysis Team
- Support customer system engineering teams in all aspects of flight vehicle design, analysis, and test to include requirements development and assessment, modeling and simulation, test analysis and reporting
- Technical focus areas include modeling and simulation, trajectory development and analysis, coordinate system transformations, and vehicle performance assessments
- Generate and analyze flight vehicle 6-DoF trajectory data
- Support mission planning, analysis, and reporting activities
- Support flight test analysis and reporting to include analyzing vehicle onboard instrumentation data, developing trajectory reconstruction, and generating performance reports
- Collaborate with a dynamic team of experts in multiple technical areas to develop analysis and engineering tools
- Utilize knowledge, skills and experience with flight vehicle characteristics (physical, kinematics, signatures) and engineering to support engineering activities and data product development
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
- Active Secret security clearance, which requires US Citizenship, TS, TS/SCI (eligible) preferred
- Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, Java, C#, and/or other programming languages
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of principles of aerodynamics; equations of motion; coordinate systems; vehicle dynamics; guidance, navigation, and control; etc.
- Experience in any of the following disciplines: Design, CAD, Trajectory, Telemetry, Radar Cross Section (RCS) Signatures, Optical Signatures, Plume attenuation, Debris laydowns, Link Margin Analysis (LMA)
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Familiarity with DoW programs, flight test processes, and test range operations
- Knowledge of principles of aerodynamics; equations of motion; coordinate systems; vehicle dynamics; guidance, navigation, and control; etc.
- Experience in any of the following disciplines: Design, CAD, Trajectory, Telemetry, Radar Cross Section (RCS) Signatures, Optical Signatures, Plume attenuation, Debris laydowns, Link Margin Analysis (LMA)
- Knowledgeable of AFSIM or similar DoW simulations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to efficiently perform multiple tasks
- Ability to communicate detailed technical information to technical and non-technical personnel
