Job summary

Hermeus Corporation seeks a Flight Software Intern to support the design and implementation of mission systems for uncrewed high-speed aircraft. You will work with the A-GRA (OMS/UCI) framework to establish interoperable messaging architectures and integrate subsystems across engineering teams.

Fall: around 16 weeks (August - December). Applicant should be pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with embedded programming exposure.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Entry-level experience with C++, C, or other embedded languages.
  • Experience with hardware integrations and embedded computers (Raspberry Pi, Arduinos, STM32).

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of mission systems using A-GRA (OMS/UCI) for uncrewed high-speed aircraft.
  • Assist in developing and integrating messaging systems to enable subsystem communication.
  • Work with messaging standards, protocols, and APIs to support interoperability.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to test, validate, and refine mission system interfaces.

About The Role:

As a Flight Software Intern, you will support the design and implementation of mission systems for uncrewed high-speed aircraft. You will work with the A-GRA (OMS/UCI) framework to help develop interoperable systems and messaging architectures.

Fall: Around 16 weeks (August - December)


Responsibilities:
  • Support the design and implementation of systems using A-GRA (OMS/UCI) for uncrewed high-speed aircraft
  • Assist in developing and integrating messaging systems that enable communication between mission subsystems
  • Work with messaging standards, protocols, and APIs to support system interoperability
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to test, validate, and refine mission system interfaces and integrations
Requirements:
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Entry level experience of C++, C, or other embedded programming languages.
  • Experience with working with hardware integrations and embedded computers (Raspberry PIs, arduinos, STM32s).
  • Strong understanding of engineering first principles
  • Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams
  • Interest in mission systems, autonomy, or aerospace systems integration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • GPA of 3.0 or above

$25 - $33 an hour

The hourly rate listed for this internship is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on degree level.
